Lighting Fixture Capacitor

Power factor of fluorescent and discharge lamps are very low due to chokes used as low as 0.3 tot 0.6.Low power factor necessitates higher current requirement for the same amount of power, resulting in lower efficiency and poor voltage regulation. Hence the capacitors are used in fluorescent fitting to improve the power factor.
